A Peaceful Confrontation and Not
Dear Friends, these two trumpeter Swans have returned to the Northland, and with lots of talking there are some confrontations. Sometimes they are peaceful and just showing off their beautiful white feathers, other times there is chasing and pulling on feathers as shown in the bottom image, enjoy, til Tomorrow MJ
A Winter Guest
Dear Friends, this boy(Pileated Woodpecker) was shopping for groceries in our 3 inches of new snow. Jim had just put out a new suet block and he zeroed in on it. The red dash under his chin marks him as a male, on females that spot is black. Hope they will nest here in our woods, may have to sit out in the woods to see where they are working, til Tomorrow MJ

Swans have returned
Dear Friends, thanks for all your encouraging words and prayers, Jim and I were in Fish Lake Refuge this week and we saw about 20 Trumpeter Swans who have arrived here before the ice is melted. These two had just landed on the ice and I loved the cyan hue of the ice, this image was processed with LAB color space, enjoy til Tomorrow MJ

Dear Friends, since I am fighting with breast cancer, I have had a few quiet days to explore more photoshop. I am experimenting with LAB color space with some of my old images. This one is Bell Rock just south of Sedona Arizona, enjoy til Tomorrow MJ
Returning to Fall
Dear Friends, need some color in my life right now, everything up here is gray, white or brown, I am working with a new colorspace, LAB in photoshop, gives wonderful colors without over saturating, this is true to what we saw this afternoon in the North Dakota Badlands, my favorite place on earth, til Tomorrow MJ
Faraway Rough Legged Hawk
Dear Friends, the last image posted showed a little bird with an extremely close view, but todays find is a rough legged hawk hanging in the air far above our vehicle. I like how the light lit up his tail and head. The dark patches at his wrist are the id marking. til Tomorrow MJ

Dear Friends, this lovely bird is coming to our bird feeder every day, do you like his feathers, I love the patterns around his eye, til Tomorrow MJ
