Chasing Northern Lights
Dear Friends, last night we were out in Crex Meadows chasing the northern lights and we arrived to this show, the clouds were lower than the lights and one small red light in the distance is probably a tower light, all in all we were pleased to get anything and the light show must have been very strong to shine through the cloud cover, the lights made an appearance over the cloud tops and the stars overhead were magnificent, til Tomorrow MJ
Horned Grebe
Dear Friends, this horned grebe reminds me of the warmth of summer, we went north this last weekend, but too cold to do much photographing, maybe birdies will return soon and i won’t have to be limited to the pine siskins, redpolls and goldfinches that come to my feeder til Tomorrow MJ

Wingspans
Dear Friends, these Sandhill Cranes have left our country and we are ice-locked with a snow covering. I want to go south too, but alas, i am grounded, til Tomorrow MJ
Favorite Life Bird-Garganey Duck
Dear Friends, this garganey duck is rarely found in this area, Crex Meadows Wildllife Refuge in June 2014, Northwestern Wisconsin, hanging out with some Blue Wing Teal. Think he was lost. but enjoy til Tomorrow MJ
Bald Eagles
Dear Friends, just a couple of eagles hanging around on a windy day, drove all day and this is all i could find in Crex Meadows. Ready to go further north now that the bird feeders are taken down, they know how to attract birds in the winter up in Sax Zim Bog, take a lesson Crex til Tomorrow MJ
Christmas Redpoll
Dear Friends, this Redpoll has come to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, he was in the Sax Zim bog the day after a snowstorm, so Merry Merry and see you in the New year, tilTomorrow MJ

Sparrows can be Pretty
Dear Friends, hanging out at the bird feeder has given me a chance to refine my bird photography skills with new lens and camera. This is an American Tree Sparrow and in this closeup you can see his bicolored bill, black on the top and yellow on the bottom. He also has the dark spot on his breast and a smidgeon of white wing bar. enjoy the birdies, til Tomorrow MJ
