Snow Geese
Dear Friends, the images below are a natural history lesson. The Snow goose on the left is the white morph and the right image shows a blue morph of the same specie of goose. A few of these snow geese were mixed into a large flock of Canadian geese at the airport in Superior. We sneaked across the grass to get close and i think we got close enough, til Tomorrow MJ

Thanksgiving Turkey
Dear Friends, Thanksgiving is fast approaching and that means housecleaning for me, yuch, but this bird is a wild turkey that lives in the city. He is part of a bachelor bunch that hang out in white bear lake and cross the lawns of a senior living center where my mother resides. His beard and spurs are very long and marks him as a senior bird. I took this photo last summer from my moms patio. enjoy til Tomorrow MJ
Pink Sky
Dear Friends, these cranes are coming into their roosting site at sundown and the sky behind them is a reflection of a lovely sunset. No better place to be than Crex Meadows for the crane migration gathering. til Tomorrow MJ

Cranes are Leaving
Dear Friends, This Sandhill crane is leaving the country, and i wish i could go along. We had 14 inches of new snow and temps in the teens (F). Guess winter has arrived here in Wisconsin so the roads are plugged and being plowed as they come up on the list. The roads at Crex are low in priority, but should be open for the weekend. til Tomorrow MJ
Fall Sunset
Dear Friends, with my feet up and sitting in my lawn chair, watching the sunset and the cranes come into the roost sight, does life get better than this?? In the fall watching the cranes is my idea of perfect, however, it could be a little warmer. Tomorrow a big snow storm, so enjoy the heat while you can, til Tomorrow MJ
Time to Go
Dear Friends, with two inches of fresh snow this morning, this will be a common sight on Crex Meadows. The Sandhill Cranes will start to leave for cornfields and marshes further south. I will be sad when they leave, they are better than watching television. But the sun is shining today so guess i will grab my camera and venture outdoors. til Tomorrow MJ
Keeping both eyes open
Dear Friends, this is not a photoshopped experience, it took me about 200 images captured to get these cranes and the moon in a single shot. I found that the secret (for me) was to leave both eyes open so i could see the cranes approaching and leaving the lens on the moon, try it you’ll like it til Tomorrow MJ
