Red – Head
Friends, this beautiful bird is a first for me, I have never seen the Red-headed Woodpecker before and at the same time being able to photograph. The image is a bit grainy but i wanted to share with my friends on WordPress. This bird was found in Custer State Park in South Dakota and along the 4 mile Creek road. til Tomorrow MJ

So glad you captured this Beauty!! Great Photo!! We have them here but not often seen. You are a lucky one. I have tried to capture them but to fast for me lol
Reblogged this on Ann Novek–With the Sky as the Ceiling and the Heart Outdoors.
When I still lived at home we used to see them all the time. My father had a suet feeder attach to a tree just outside the kitchen window. It has been a long time since I have seen a red-head. I seem to remember reading that they have been in decline for a long time.
I liked the shot very much. Brought back fond memories. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful!
