Friends, this is not good photography, but i wanted to show you the mass take-offs of Sandhill Cranes during a Crex sunrise. Yes i can rise early but i don’t make a habit of it. If you click on the large image a slide show will take you through the sequence as the birds lower their necks and spread their wings. I wish i could attach an audio clip cause the sounds of all these cranes talking at once is also beautiful. At the moment we have a little snow on the ground so they are talking about the journey south to Indiana, then on to Florida. til Tomorrow MJ

Who says this isn’t good photography? You need to stop listening to that person.
The first photograph caught my eye right away. And then to have the rest of the sequence of flight, well, that is impressive.
You obviously have awards, so someone thinks you have good photography. Just keep it up. Your young buck is pretty cool, too.
yes i agree, great photography, telling a story, about rare beauty! well done mj 🙂
thanks christine, your comments are greatly appreciated, sometimes it takes more than one photo to tell the story, MJ
i really loved scrolling through the images, watching the take-off, speaks right to my heart 🙂
